日本代表出場記念作品
2024/11/3-9にカリフォルニア州ハンティントンビーチで開催されるISA PARA SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP2024に日本代表として出場する記念として制作した作品です。
サーフィンの道具であるフィンを波に模し創作した絣と、沖縄の伝統文様トゥイグヮー（鳥）を組み合わせ「飛躍」、ハンティントンに打ち寄せる波に立ち向かう様を表現しました。
且つて、中国や東南アジアとの海洋交易で伝わった琉球藍染織文化。第二次世界大戦で壊滅的な被害を受けながらも、先人の知恵と技術は500年経った今もなお受け継がれており、幾多の荒波を乗りこなしてきた先人への敬意と、この素晴らしい文化を今後も継承するという想いも合わせて表現しています。

Commemorative work for Japan
This work was created to commemorate Japan's participation in the ISA PARA SURFING CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 to be held in Huntington Beach, California from November 3-9, 2024.
The design combines the traditional Okinawan pattern of tuigwah (bird) and the kasuri, which was created by imitating a surfing tool, the fin, as a wave, to express "leap forward" and the way the waves that come to Huntington are confronted.
The Ryukyu indigo-dyed textile culture was introduced through maritime trade with China and Southeast Asia. Although devastated by World War II, the wisdom and techniques of our ancestors are still being passed down today, 500 years later. The design also expresses our respect for our ancestors who overcame many rough waves, and our desire to continue passing on this wonderful culture.
